Golf Across Vietnam

Vietnam’s golf courses are spread across some of the country’s most scenic regions, from coastal resorts and mountain landscapes to courses close to its major cities. This variety makes it possible to build a golf journey around both the game and the destinations you want to discover.

Whether you are looking for a short golf escape or a longer itinerary combining several regions, Vietnam offers a wide choice of courses and settings for tailor-made golf travel.

Northern Vietnam

Northern Vietnam offers a wide variety of golf experiences around Hanoi and the surrounding countryside, from lakeside and mountain courses to larger resort developments. This makes the region particularly suitable for golfers who want to combine several rounds with Hanoi’s cultural heritage and excursions into northern Vietnam.

Around Hanoi, notable courses include BRG Kings Island Golf Resort, Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club, Long Bien Golf Course, Phoenix Golf Resort, Thanh Lanh Valley Golf Resort, BRG Legend Hill Golf Resort, Heron Lake Golf Course & Resort, Dai Lai Star Golf & Country Club and Tam Dao Golf Resort. Further afield, Stone Valley Golf Resort and Chi Linh Star Golf & Country Club offer additional possibilities for longer golf itineraries.

The courses vary considerably in character. BRG Kings Island offers an extensive 54-hole golf environment around Dong Mo Lake, while Phoenix Golf Resort provides multiple courses surrounded by dramatic limestone landscapes. Thanh Lanh Valley combines golf with a peaceful lakeside and mountain setting, while Sky Lake offers a choice of two distinct 18-hole layouts within easy reach of Hanoi. Long Bien provides a more convenient option for golfers who prefer to stay closer to the city.

Golf can be combined with Hanoi’s historic Old Quarter, Vietnamese cuisine and cultural experiences, as well as journeys to Ha Long Bay, Ninh Binh, Mai Chau and the mountainous regions of northern Vietnam. This makes it possible to create anything from a short Hanoi golf escape to a longer journey combining golf, culture and nature.

Centre du Vietnam

Central Vietnam is one of the country’s most distinctive golf regions, with courses set between the coastline, mountains and historic destinations.

Around Da Nang and Hoi An, golfers can choose from several internationally designed courses, including Hoiana Shores Golf Club, BRG Da Nang Golf Resort, Ba Na Hills Golf Club and Montgomerie Links.

Further north, Laguna Golf Lăng Cô offers a spectacular setting between mountains and the coast near Hue. These courses make it possible to combine golf with Hoi An’s historic architecture, Hue’s imperial heritage, Da Nang’s beaches and the landscapes of Central Vietnam.

Nha Trang & the Central Coast

Further south, KN Golf Links Cam Ranh and Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang offer opportunities to combine golf with the beaches and resort atmosphere of Vietnam’s Central Coast.

KN Golf Links is located along Long Beach near Cam Ranh, while Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang occupies a scenic island setting. Both can be incorporated into a wider itinerary combining golf with coastal relaxation and time around Nha Trang and Cam Ranh.

Southern Vietnam

Around Ho Chi Minh City, golfers can combine city experiences with courses across the wider southern region.

The Bluffs Grand Ho Tram is one of the region’s most distinctive coastal courses, while Long Thanh Golf Club and Vietnam Golf & Country Club provide further options within reach of Ho Chi Minh City.

For travellers who want to combine golf with the energy of Saigon, the Mekong Delta or Vietnam’s southern coast, the region offers plenty of flexibility.

Dalat & the Central Highlands

For a very different golfing environment, Dalat Palace Golf Club brings golf to the cooler landscapes of Da Lat in Vietnam’s Central Highlands.

Set within the city’s pine-covered highlands, Dalat offers a completely different atmosphere from the tropical coast. Golf can be combined with the city’s French-influenced architecture, gardens, waterfalls and surrounding mountain scenery.

Phu Quoc

Golf can also be combined with an island escape on Phu Quoc, where Vinpearl Golf Phu Quoc offers an 18-hole course within the island’s resort environment.

This makes Phu Quoc particularly suitable for travellers who want to combine golf with beaches, relaxation and resort experiences rather than creating a golf-only itinerary.

Golf & Culture

Golf in Vietnam does not have to mean spending the entire journey on the course.

Between rounds, travellers can discover historic cities, local markets, traditional cuisine, beaches, temples and cultural landmarks. A golf itinerary can therefore be shaped around the interests of each traveller, with time for both golf and exploration.

For couples or accompanying non-golfers, this flexibility also makes it possible to include cultural experiences, wellness, sightseeing or leisure activities while golfers enjoy their rounds.

Golf for Couples & Private Groups

Vietnam is well suited to private golf travel, whether travelling as a couple, with friends or as a small group.

Itineraries can be organised around the preferred number of rounds and courses, with private transportation, selected accommodation and additional experiences arranged around the golfing schedule.

For groups and golf clubs, Viettourist can also coordinate the practical elements of the journey, including airport transfers, transportation, tee times, guides, accommodation and excursions.

Premium Golf Journeys

For travellers looking for a more refined experience, Vietnam offers the possibility of combining golf with premium hotels, private transportation, carefully selected restaurants and personalised cultural experiences.

Rather than following a fixed programme, a tailor-made golf journey can be designed around the courses, destinations and level of accommodation that suit each group.

When to Travel

Vietnam’s long north-to-south geography means weather conditions vary considerably between regions. This makes it possible to find suitable golf destinations at different times of the year.

November to April: Southern & Central Vietnam

Generally favourable for golf in destinations such as Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Da Nang and Hoi An, although conditions vary by location and month.

March to May: Northern & Central Vietnam

A good period for exploring northern and central destinations as temperatures become warmer, while golf can be combined with sightseeing and outdoor experiences.

June to August: Northern & Central Vietnam

Warmer conditions can be expected, with occasional rainfall depending on the region. Early-morning tee times can be particularly suitable during hotter periods.

September to October: Northern Vietnam

A transition period with changing weather conditions, while Central and Southern Vietnam follow different seasonal patterns.

For a multi-region golf itinerary, the route should be planned around the weather as well as the preferred courses and destinations.

Golf in Vietnam, Your Way

Every golfer has different priorities, from the number of rounds and preferred course style to accommodation, sightseeing and travel pace.
